Dr Julie Kruss

Melbourne | Telehealth

Julie is a registered psychologist with community psychology endorsement. Her counselling approach takes into account the many intersections of people’s lives.

She has spent over ten years in the community sector working with survivors of complex trauma, sexual assault and family violence.  This also includes many years working within the prison system. She has also supported people with grief, and loss, and other traumas (e.g., workplace trauma, medical trauma).  She enjoys/has experience in working with adolescents, and adults and people of all genders, sexualities, neurotypes, and abilities.

She places importance on a person centred, trauma informed approach which focuses on the therapeutic relationship, resourcing, safety and stabilisation.

Julie interweaves this with various modalities to suit your needs. These include Somatic Experiencing – intermediate level, Narrative Therapy, ACT, EMDR, IFS and parts work. She really values curiosity and taking the time and space to meet you where you are at.

In her spare time, Julie likes to travel, read, and eat cheese. And you will sometimes find her watching a terrible TV show or two.  She may also be the only Melbournian who does not like coffee, but don’t hold that against her!
